24 Ways to Eat Choc Crunch (That Go Way Beyond Toast)

Montana's Table Choc Crunch Jars in Pistachio, Hazelnut and Strawberry Macadamia

Every jar in our Choc Crunch range is made to be more than a spread. Pistachio Kataifi, Hazelnut & Milk Choc or Strawberry Macadamia, they all work in bakes, desserts, snacks and, yes, breakfast too. Here's every way we (and our customers) love to use them.

Straight From the Jar

1. Straight Off the Spoon
The most honest answer. No toast, no plate, just a spoon and five minutes to yourself.

2. The Ultimate Dip
Strawberries, apple slices, shortbread, pretzels. Set the jar in the middle of a platter and let everyone go for it. If it can be dipped, it should be.

3. Stuffed Dates & Banana Bites
Pit a Medjool date and fill it with a teaspoon of the jar, or sandwich it between two thick banana slices and freeze for an hour. A healthy-ish snack that doesn't feel like one.

For Breakfast

4. Pancakes & French Toast
Spread it between each pancake so every forkful gets some, or warm it slightly and pour it over the top. For French toast, sandwich a layer between two slices of brioche before dipping in egg and frying.

5. Stuffed Into a Croissant
Split a day-old croissant, spread the inside generously, close it up and warm it in the oven for five minutes. Bakery-level for supermarket price.

6. Oats & Yoghurt Bowls
Swirl a spoonful through overnight oats or spoon it over thick Greek yoghurt with fresh berries. Add it just before eating so the crunch holds.

7. On Waffles or Crumpets
Warm it slightly and let it run into every square of a waffle or every hole of a hot crumpet.

In the Oven

8. Brownies, Two Ways
Dollop spoonfuls into your brownie batter just before baking for gooey pockets through every square. Or let the brownies cool and spread a thick layer over the top as a crunchy frosting.

9. Molten-Centre Cookies
Freeze teaspoon-sized dollops on baking paper for an hour, then wrap your cookie dough around them before baking. Break one open warm for a gooey centre.

10. As a Cake Layer
Spread it between sponge layers instead of buttercream for a filling with actual texture.

11. In Slices
Spread it over a biscuit base before adding your top layer, or use it as the topping on a no-bake slice.

12. Thumbprint Cookies
Press a dip into shortbread dough and bake, then fill once cooled so the filling keeps its crunch.

For Dessert

13. Drizzled Over Ice Cream
Warm it in the microwave for a few seconds and pour it over a scoop.

14. Homemade Ice Magic
Warm 3 tablespoons of the jar with 1 tablespoon of refined coconut oil until smooth. Pour it over ice cream and watch it set into a crunchy shell, just like the Ice Magic you grew up with. Or dip an ice cream block on a stick for a DIY Magnum.

15. Ninja Creami or No-Churn Ice Cream
Using a Ninja Creami? Add a few spoonfuls on the mix-in setting. No machine? Whip 600ml of thickened cream to soft peaks, fold through a tin of condensed milk, then swirl the jar through before freezing.

16. Chocolate Truffles
Scoop teaspoon-sized balls onto baking paper and freeze until firm. Dip them straight from the freezer into melted chocolate and let them set. Work quickly so they hold their shape.

17. Rocky Road
Stir a few spoonfuls through melted chocolate with marshmallows and nuts, set in a tin and slice.

18. Cheesecake Topping
Spread a layer over a baked cheesecake just before serving for a creamy, crunchy finish. Brisbane locals, our custom baked cheesecakes are available for pickup if you'd rather skip the baking.

19. Ice Cream Sandwiches
Spread it on a cookie, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, top with another cookie and freeze until firm.

20. Stirred Through a Milkshake
Blend your shake first, then stir a spoonful through at the end so every sip has crunch.

21. Affogato
Stir a spoonful into a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then pour a hot espresso over the top.

Everything Else

22. Stirred Into Hot Chocolate
A heaped spoonful whisked into hot milk. Rich, nutty and a little bit crunchy at the bottom.

23. Drizzled Over Popcorn
Warm it and drizzle over a bowl of fresh popcorn for movie night.

24. As a Gift
Travels well, looks beautiful and needs zero explanation. If you're stuck on what to bring to a dinner party or send as a thank-you, this is it.
